No Burden

"No Burden" is the debut full length studio album from singer/songwriter Lucy Dacus, the album was originally released on Vinyl on 26 Feb 2016 through Richmond based label EggHunt Records, after signing to major label Matador Records, No Burden was reissued on September 9, 2016. No Burden was put together relatively last-minute when a friend who worked at Starstruck Studio in Nashville let her know they had an open day. She had assembled a band from area musicians in guitarist Jacob Blizard, bass player Christine Moad, and drummer Hayden Cotcher, and the songs, which had been written solo, were arranged for the quartet in the week leading up to a ten-hour recording session. The friend at the studio, Collin Pastore, engineered and mixed the album, which was co-produced by Dacus, Pastore, and Blizard. "No Burden is a forthright, disarmingly catchy statement. And while it's a sterling debut, it only hints at the potential possessed by this passionate, thoughtful young woman". -Maura Johnston
