"Cooltide" is an album by John Martyn released on 9th September 1991 Cooltide was recorded and mixed in less than 3 weeks. Recorded at CaVa Sound Workshops, Glasgow, Scotland. Originally released on CD by Permanent Records. The title tracks condemnation of war underlines John’s personal anti war beliefs in a year that saw Operation Desert Shield become Operation Desert Storm . The album marks the handover by longtime Martyn keyboard collaborator Foster Patterson to his successor Spencer Cozens. Cozens had to sit his college final examinations during the recording, and Patterson returned to deputise in his absence.
