I Set My Friends on Fire

I Set My Friends On Fire are a post-hardcore group with electronic influences formed in Miami, Florida in 2007. The band's original lineup consisted of Matt Mehana and Nabil Moo. Chris Lent joined the band in 2009 and is their current drummer and studio guitarist. Their touring lead and rhythm guitarists are Andrew Tapley and Joe Nelson, respectively. I Set My Friends On Fire plays an experimental style of post-hardcore which blends elements from other genres including electronic, dance-pop and crunkcore. The vocal styles include screamed, clean, and auto-tuned vocals, and synth and sequencers are used. They garnered plenty attention from their debut single, a rendition of "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" (their version being "Crank That"), which was originally posted to their MySpace page. The band released a self-titled EP before releasing their debut album, You Can't Spell Slaughter Without Laughter, via Epitaph on October 7, 2008. I Set My Friends On Fire began recording and writing their second album in early 2010. They performed at The Bamboozle on May 1, 2010, and finished up the album in June.
