Ezra Furman

Their second album, Inside the Human Body, was released in October 2008, and was also well received by critics. After their contract with Minty Fresh Records expired, they released a self-produced album titled Moon Face, which included live recordings and some of Ezra's solo work. When the album was ordered through the band's website, one could include a small passage about themselves, and as an addition to the album, Ezra would write a song singularly for the purchaser. Their third studio album, Mysterious Power, was released on April 5, 2011. through Red Parlor Records. It was recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Doug Boehm. After touring in support of Mysterious Power, Ezra Furman produced a solo album without a label, entitled The Year of No Returning. The album was recorded at Studio Ballistico, located at the time in the attic of Ezra's house, and produced by Tim Sandusky, who lived there as well. Sandusky eventually became a full-time member of Ezra's touring band. Ezra Furman raised money through Kickstarter to record and self-release The Year of No Returning. The album was released in February 2012. At the end of the year, Ezra signed to Bar/None Records, who re-released The Year of No Returning in the summer of 2013. Ezra Furman & the Boy-Friends formed in spring of 2012 and toured in support of The Year of No Returning. The band consisted of Jorgen Jorgensen (bass), Ben Joseph (keyboard, guitar), and Sam Durkes (drums). Tim Sandusky (saxophone) joined in 2013. They released Day of the Dog in October 2013, also recorded at Studio Ballistico and released through Bar/None Records. This album received much critical acclaim in the UK and resulted in multiple sold-out shows in the UK.
