Wash The Sins Not Only The Face is the second studio album by British indie rock/gothic rock band Esben and the Witch. It is due for release on 21 January 2013. Band member Daniel Copeman said of the album: “We had a clearer idea of what we wanted to achieve on this album, and how we could achieve it. We’re more focused, more confident.” A deluxe version of the album is also going to be released, which features the LP and CD version of the album and a bonus 7".The title comes from a Greek palindromic phrase (Nipson anomēmata mē monan opsin, Greek: Νίψον ἀνομήματα, μὴ μόναν ὄψιν), which was inscribed upon a holy water font outside the church of Hagia Sophia in Constantinople.The band came across it while on tour and decided to use it as the title for the album.
