LP5

LP5 is the common title for the fifth album by the electronic music group Autechre. It was released in 1998 by Warp Records. The album does not provide a title, but Warp Records references it as LP5, in line with EP7; it has also been called Autechre, as well as Autechre Album, as listed on promotional copies. This album shows Autechre finally abandoning the full, warm sounds of albums like Tri Repetae for a stripped-down, technical style they had begun exploring on Chiastic Slide and the Cichlisuite EP.On US and German pressings, the hidden track is moved to its own 12th track, while the silence after "Drane2" is shortened by three minutes. The hidden track is not found on vinyl pressings.
