Sixty-coats-of-lacquer retro-soul with a thoroughly modern wound: Ronson and Salaam Remi build a Motown stage for Winehouse to bleed on, and "Rehab"'s gallows humor became prophecy nobody wanted confirmed. "Love Is a Losing Game" is standards-book material written at twenty-two. A perfect album whose afterlife makes it almost unbearable.

Back to Black is the second studio album by English recording artist Amy Winehouse, released on 27 October 2006 by Island Records. It is the last album released in her lifetime. The album incorporates 1960s soul music styles and modern R&B production, with subjective lyrics that concern relationships and reflect on Winehouse's experiences with drinking, sex, and drugs.
