The Platinum Collection

Not every song on The Platinum Collection went platinum, and they didn't all come from platinum albums, either. That's the first problem with this compilation, released by Warner Platinum/Rhino in the U.K. Concentrating mostly on Chaka Khan's solo releases -- only. "Ain't Nobody" comes from her work with Rufus -- it does contain many of her most popular solo singles. Having "Ain't Nobody," "I'm Every Woman," "I Feel for You," and "Through the Fire" on one disc will be enough to satisfy casual fans, but there are some questionable selections where more enduring songs (such as "Clouds" and "Fate") belong.
